Our goal as Alpaca breeders is to create a herd of elite alpacas with a focus on colorations.  Our focus is on integrating genetics to improve the quality of the fleece fineness, density and character while maintaining excellent conformation in the body structure. 

 

The alpaca fiber is a luxurious fiber with numerous very valuable characteristics that mirror those of cashmere and wool.  The alpaca fiber is leveraged to create incredible feeling yarns, extremely warm socks, light and feathery scarves. 

At Chimera Ranch we integrate other natural fibers (e.g. wool, mohair, camel, yak, etc) with the alpaca fiber to create unique hand made products.  

 

We look forward to enhancing our knowledge of these intriguing creatures and the exquisite fiber that they produce and apply that knowledge in partnership with other alpaca breeders and owners in the expansion of the overall industry opportunities.
